| dc.description | [EN] Acoustics is one of the oldest branches of the physics and because of that many physicists think that there is no more acoustic science to develop and that the acousticians are presently playing only a technical role. This is a view that, if admissible for certain sectors of acoustics as for other sectors of physics, is completely erroneous referring to a so wide-ranging discipline. In fact, acoustics as the science of elastic waves should be considered as a parallel field to that of the electromagnetic waves and both are very open and active scientific and technological areas. | - |
