Description: | Ponencia presentada en el XIX Congreso Internacional de Acústica (ICA2007), Madrid, 2-7 Sep 2007. In the framework of damage detection by means of nonlinear ultrasonic spectroscopy (NEWS), a comparative study of corroded and intact samples is presented. A thin metallic plate of 2024-T3 aluminium alloy was subjected to corrosion damage in salt fog chamber. Nonlinear elastic characterization is carried out by means of a resonance analysis. In particular, the nonlinear amplitude dependence of frequency and harmonic distortion is used. This work is supported by the European Union project STREP FP6-502927 (AERONEWS). Peer reviewed |
