| dc.description | The article contains a review of the evolution of construction systems since the second quarter of the twentieth century in response to the move away from bearing wall structures and the advent of new materials. The impact of such changes on system (primarily structure, facade and roof) constructional operability is analyzed from the vantage of architecture as a functional art.<br> The industrialization and sustainability of new systems are broached in the framework of construction process rationalization, bearing in mind the different phases (material manufacture, building, use and maintenance) involved. Finally, the basic features of a desirable future are outlined.<br><br>Se lleva a cabo una revisión de la evolución de los sistemas constructivos a partir del 2º cuarto del siglo XX, como consecuencia del abandono de las estructuras murarias y la aparición de nuevos materiales. Se analiza la repercusión de dichos cambios en la funcionalidad constructiva de los sistemas (principalmente estructuras, fachadas y cubiertas) a partir de la consideración de la arquitectura como una arte funcional.<br> Se plantea la industrialización y sostenibilidad de los nuevos sistemas a partir de la racionalización de los procesos constructivos, teniendo en cuenta las distintas fases (producción de materiales, ejecución, uso y mantenimiento). Finalmente, se exponen las líneas básicas de un futuro deseable. | - |
