Description: | Sanduskians watched local carriage maker George Bing as he adjusted the engine of his biplane before a test flight on the ice of Sandusky Bay. Bing eventually opted for the light- weight Roberts Motor Company engine that other pioneer aviators had used with great success. Despite these changes Bing was failed at his attempt to fly. He died in an automobile crash in 1914. |
